Oneonta Creek Trails

The Oneonta Creek Trails consist of several trails in the City of Oneonta watershed area, which was recently opened to the public. Credit for these trails goes mostly to the Oneonta Trail Association (OTA), with some help from the Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway.

The White Trail takes you past an old cemetery
The Cemetery Trail takes you past an old graveyard.

  1. From the Y, look for the “Oneonta Creek Trail” sign and a mowed area for parking on Wilber Lake Road .
  2. On Lower Cross Road, look for the “Oneonta Creek Trail” sign. Entering here will take you south to the access point listed above. To go to Wilber Lake instead, look for the blue blazes on trees across the road.
  3. Park near the gate at the Wilber Lake dam. Walk along the Dam Trail, watching for the blue blazes on trees to the right.

Cemetery Trail runs from Lower Cross Road to Wilber Lake. There are two ways to access this trail:

  1. On Lower Cross Road look for white blazes on trees and a small bridge across the ditch.
  2. Park near the gate at the Wilber Lake dam. Walk along the Dam Trail, watching for the white blazes on trees to the right. You’ll pass the entrance to the Oneonta Creek Trail (blue blazes) first.

Logger’s Lane, a third trail, forks off of the Oneonta Creek Trail just north of Lower Cross Road and continues north to end at the Dam Trail and Wilber Lake.

Note: the “East Side” trail group shown to the west of the loop trails connected to the Oneonta Creek Trail were created by members of the Oneonta Trails Association.
