The Roundhouse Road Trail is a work-in-progress. It consists of a short 1/4-mile trail wtih bridges and boardwalks, through woods and wetland. Steps at the east entrance provide easy access from Fonda Ave. (after stepping over or walking around the guard rail). Or access it from Roundhouse Road near Noah’s World.
One bridge is currently under repair… be prepared to get wet if the small stream below is running.
If you would like to help with building or maintaining trails, please click the “Become a Volunteer” button above. In the future we hope to expand this trail in the Oneonta Railyard Development Project area
Access to the Roundhouse Trail:
Park along Roundhouse Road near Noah’s World. The entrance is across the street. Head into the open area and look for the trail to the right.
You can also access it by parking on Fonda Ave, stepping over or walking around the guard rail, and walking down the stairs.
This bridge, the third to be built on this short trail, crosses a wetland. New materials for the base were designed to provide long-lasting support; the repurposed lumber helped us save funds for other projects and gave the bridge a fun and interesting appearance.
